This is an event in which participant’s teams use accurate, detailed maps, compasses and/or Global Positioning Devices (GPS) to find points on the landscape. It is enjoyed as a walk in the woods, in urban settings or as a competitive sport. This activity is also know as Orienteering or Rogaining, with some competitive elements.

A standard TrueNorth™ course consists of a start, a series of control sites that are marked by circles, connected by lines and numbered in the order they are to be visited, and a finish.

Misty River Urban™, combines the same basic elements of rural or mountain orienteering, but adds the local historic flavor, depending on location. Our site at Old Town Alexandria is rich in historical content, which allows teams to discover little know facts about our heritage.

Misty River Urban™ can also be combined with our
CulinaryTeaming™ program to add a unique dimension to an organization’s team bonding and development. The teams will have a primary goal of locating several tools or ingredients for their cooking partners to use for the team meal. There are several elements of the adventure that need to occur such as leader selection, team strategy of operation, strategic directions, roles and responsibilities and how the team will conduct itself internally and externally.
